Trainiac, a picture-based training company, commissioned full user-interface design for their client, Standard Bank. The client needed to educate its employees on the rules and regulations of Data Privacy – a subject that is complex and technical as it complies with international financial regulations. The solution called for a captivating solution that took users on a journey in a game-like learning environment. 

Harukami originated and developed the user engagement experience through design for the e-Learning Programme based on an interactive journey. A story was developed that centred on a space-age concept where ‘robots take over the world’ and users were sent on a mission to protect data. Character design included an icon for the subject, the Vault, who was designed to represent strength, trust and protection. The icon was approachable to soften the ‘edge’ on the intimidating subject of data privacy. Avatars and a guide was also developed to guide the user through the content in a visually stimulating and engaging way.
